Editorial Standards
Useful information should be understandable, attributable and open to correction.
Purpose and scope
Our guides and insights aim to explain topics clearly and help readers ask better questions. They do not replace professional advice. Directory information is supplied by listing owners and should be independently checked.
Sources and accuracy
Contributors should use relevant primary sources where possible, check factual statements, distinguish opinion from evidence and avoid unsupported claims. Material sources should be identified so readers can examine them.
Authorship and updates
Editorial articles should identify their author and relevant publication or update dates. An update date should reflect a meaningful review or change, not a cosmetic refresh designed to imply new reporting.
Review and independence
Member submissions move through draft, review and publication. Editors may request revisions or reject material. Commercial relationships do not entitle an advertiser to favorable conclusions or a Verified badge.
Sponsorship and interests
Paid placements, sponsorships and material conflicts should be disclosed clearly. Contributors must tell us about relevant commercial relationships.
AI assistance
Where AI is used to assist drafting, a person remains responsible for checking facts, sources, originality and disclosures. AI output must not invent quotations, credentials or first-hand experience.
Corrections
Report a concern through our Corrections & Content Complaints page. Material errors should be corrected with appropriate transparency.
